You can’t expect much more from the Florida Gators.
High-profile college football rookies Caleb Odom A recent visit to the University of Florida (UF) resulted in one of the dumbest hiring mistakes a “prestigious” program can make.
At 6-foot-5 and weighing 215 pounds, Odom is listed among the four-star tight ends for 2024, but he has plenty of options at his disposal when it comes to schools looking for him. As of this writing, it looks like the current favorites are Alabama (because of course), Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, and my Miami Hurricanes.Other candidates include Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Florida, Michigan, and Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes. whole list).

It’s time for the Carrollton, Georgia native to visit the Gators over the weekend, as a prospective top pick in the NFL Draft. Before he showed up on campus, his hotel room was piled with presents, and as is often the case with recruiting new employees, things got off to a good start.

After swimming flashes and dashes in his hotel room, Odom toured the facility in Florida and spoke with the coaching staff. Next, to a more flashy scene, this time a photo shoot wearing the Gators uniform.
With Florida rocking the Jordan Brand, the Gators staff decided to have him paint the Jumpman logo. This means that you can jump while posing and have your photo taken in mid-air.
As for the photos themselves, the results were excellent.

But did Odom have to deal with bulls to get there?
For some reason (this is a photoshoot so I’m guessing you have to deal with the lighting), UF had Odom stand on glass and do this with cleats. Yes, it sounds like a bad combination already, but Odom slipped and fell on the glass when he got off the jump.

He was fine in the end, but how the hell do you make that mistake with a 4 star recruit?
As a Miami Hurricanes fan, I know how stupid the Florida Gators’ program is – the most recent example I can give you is the Jalen Kitna debacle (and then Marcus Stokes situation). And yeah, I understand my cane has issues too, but Florida is on another level. Heh, at least Miami has a solid excuse to fund academia and try to be the “Harvard University of the South.”
Florida is definitely a football school, but what is their excuse?
Seriously, what excuse do they have for mismanaging a 4 star recruit like this? (Related: Miami Dolphins’ Mike McDaniel gave hilarious answer when asked if he smoked an e-cigarette during playoff game against Bills)
I thought it was a “prestigious” college football program?
stupid, just stupid. It’s the same gator I’ve always known.
PS Don’t be afraid to play against us.
