Social Media Torches Andrew Garfield For Suggesting Mel Gibson Deserves A Second Chance

Andrew Garfield voiced his support, saying Mel Gibson deserves another chance in Hollywood, but social media isn’t having it.

Garfield spoke about working with Gibson on the 2016 film “Hacksaw Ridge,” saying, “I actually learned a lot. I learned that people can heal. People can change, and with help. “I learned that I can earn it. I learned that everyone deserves respect,” People reported.

And he spoke directly about Gibson: “He gave himself a lot of beautiful healing.”

“And I thank God, because I think he’s a great filmmaker and he’s qualified to make movies. He’s got a very, very big, caring heart and I think he’s qualified to tell the story. Yes,” Garfield said of Gibson.

Garfield went on to say that working with Gibson “taught me that people should be given second chances, third chances, fourth chances.” “There are no absolutes among us,” People magazine reported.

Social media slammed Garfield over these comments.
