Sofia Vergara and her husband Joe Manganiello have claimed to have ended their seven-year marriage.

The couple released a joint statement on the matter on Monday.

“We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said. page 6.

They went on to explain that their separation was an amicable one.

“As two people who love and care for each other, we graciously ask that their privacy be respected as they enter this new phase of their lives,” the couple said to Page Six.

A source was reportedly able to provide additional information about the relationship status of the two.

“Sophia and Joe have been estranged for some time now and are taking some time off to think about their futures,” a source told Page Six.

Fans suspected Vergara of causing trouble in paradise when she posted a series of images of herself and a group of friends celebrating her birthday in Italy. Manganiello, in particular, disappeared from the picture, leaving a very simple birthday message on her social media accounts.

The “Modern Family” star turned 51. Manganiello is 46 years old.

The two were last seen together in public in Hoboken, New Jersey, in June, when Vergara visited Manganiello on the set of her new project Nonnas, according to Page Six. reported. (Related: Ariana Grande Heads for Divorce)

The reasons behind their relationship problems and the cause of the marital breakup have not been officially announced.
