Netflix released the trailer for “The Perfect Couple” on Tuesday, and it features an A-list star-studded cast that suggests the show will be a huge hit.
Nicole Kidman stars in this six-episode limited murder mystery series set over the Fourth of July weekend on Nantucket Island. trailerStarring alongside her is Liev Schreiber, the kind of actor who has been able to pick any role he wants since Ray Donovan, and with Dakota Fanning joining Kidman and Schreiber, there must be something special about the script to land such big-name actors for a short-run series.
The story depicts a holiday weekend wedding as the protagonist, Amelia Sachs, prepares to marry into one of the island's wealthiest families.
For those who haven't spent time in these circles, the series will seem like an accurate depiction of just how grotesque this kind of wealth actually is. (Related article: Highly anticipated film remake flops at the box office, receives bizarre criticism from original director)
The American nouveau riche have no class. Despite all the effort they put into acquiring expensive houses, luxury cars and luxury watches, all they're left with are empty bags of gas and no hobbies or purpose other than feeling important because they have money. Sucks.
