“We can't wait to welcome Birmingham travelers looking to enjoy Fort Lauderdale's beautiful beaches in an affordable and convenient way,” said John Kirby, Spirit Airlines' vice president of network planning. “Our new daily service makes flying to Fort Lauderdale more accessible and provides an attractive alternative to driving.”
“This will make it easier for our Florida guests to enjoy Birmingham's southern hospitality.”
Darlene Wilson, vice chair of the Birmingham Airport Authority, said she is looking forward to the start of flights.
“This is a great day for our community,” Wilson said. “Spirit Airlines has shown a lot of confidence in this market and we are pleased to offer travelers this new option.”
Spirit Airlines is offering limited-time special fares starting at $69* for travel from October 10 to November 19, 2024. All fares are one-way and subject to advance purchase 14 days in advance and availability.
