St. Michael’s Volleyball Triumphs Over BASIS Flagstaff
In a recent volleyball match, the Cardinals of St. Michael’s faced off against the BASIS Flagstaff Yetis, and, well, it didn’t go as well for the Yetis. They suffered a 3-0 defeat, adding to their previous loss just a few days prior. This match marked St. Michael’s sixth consecutive victory against BASIS Flagstaff.
As the game unfolded, St. Michael’s seemed to find their rhythm, progressively putting pressure on the Yetis. The final scores for the sets were 25-22, 25-17, and 25-10, showcasing a notable shift in momentum.
Leading the charge for St. Michael’s were Sariah Lopez and Chanelle Hale, both contributing five kills to the team’s effort. Hayden Roan played a crucial role with her 12 assists. Additionally, Alana Yazzie was effective at the service line, racking up four aces throughout the match.
With this victory, St. Michael’s record now stands at 10 wins against 7 losses. On the other hand, this marked BASIS Flagstaff’s first defeat in the region, bringing their regional record to 3-1 and an overall standing of 9-2.
But St. Michael’s didn’t rest on their laurels; they quickly returned to the court for another match and secured a 3-1 win against Diściviko shortly after. BASIS Flagstaff also played again, unfortunately losing 3-0 to Camp Verde the same day.
