A San Francisco Bay Area man allegedly posted disturbing footage of the stabbing to Facebook on Wednesday, FOX LA reported.
The 39-year-old suspect, identified as Mark Metschkoff, allegedly “relentlessly filmed the final moments of his victim’s life and posted the video on Facebook,” San Mateo Police said in a statement at FOX LA. . report.

The case came to light after a concerned Nevada individual reported the social media footage to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, according to the report. Associated Press. Upon receiving the information, law enforcement quickly traced the phone number linked to the Facebook page to the large San Mateo apartment complex where Mechkoff is said to live, according to the Associated Press.
The newspaper reported that the dead body of a victim, identified as Claribel Estrella, was also found in one of the units at the scene.
Police successfully arrested Mechkoff about 30 miles south of the San Jose apartment complex shortly after he allegedly “fled the area,” according to the Associated Press.

Prosecutors at the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office immediately charged Mechkoff with a single count of murder, The Associated Press reported. Additional bolstering was included for suspected serious injury and knife use, reports said.
According to the Associated Press, Metchkov reportedly chose not to speak at a recent court appearance. District Attorney Stephen Wagstaff said his arraignment was postponed for a week pending the appointment of a public defender, the paper reported.
