Warm, dry, windy weather has put fires under control throughout northern Arizona this week.
Stage 1 fire regulations will take effect from Thursday across the Coconino and Kaibab National Forests, as well as both the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County, officials announced Monday.
Stage 1 restrictions prohibit the use of fires, campfires, charcoal, coal, and wood stoves, except within developed recreational sites.
Smoking is also prohibited, except in enclosed vehicles, buildings, or developed recreational facilities. Fireworks are prohibited in all national forests and land at all times.
ON/OFF pressurized liquid petroleum or LPG-fueled equipment only is permitted in areas that are barren or where all overhead and surrounding combustible materials within 3 feet of the equipment have been removed. increase.

No open burning permits are issued in the city, and the sale or use of consumer fireworks is prohibited.
The restriction also prohibits the use of charcoal or firewood barbecues in city parks and squares.
The restrictions were put in place in hopes that officials would prevent man-made fires during the summer and as fire hazards heightened heading into Independence Day weekend.
Decisions about fire limits are based on a carefully measured combination of factors, officials said. Criteria that determine when restrictions will be implemented include current and projected weather, fuel moisture, fire activity levels, ongoing drought, and available firefighting resources.
Additional restrictions may be added as circumstances permit. Fire controls generally remain in place until the late summer monsoon season, when widespread and heavy rainfall hits the area.
Campfires and camping are prohibited year-round in some areas of the forest, including around Flagstaff.
