Patty Yasutake, best known for her role in “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” died Monday at age 70 after a long battle with cancer.
Yasutake's manager and friend, Kyle Fritz, confirmed her death and said she died peacefully surrounded by family and friends. deadlineYasutake's career spanned three decades, and ended on a high note with her final role in the acclaimed limited series “Beef.” “Patty was my first client when I started in this business over 30 years ago,” Fritz said. “We enjoyed every day we got to work together, and I will miss her grit, talent, tenacity, and most of all, her friendship.”

Yasutake played the role of nurse Alyssa Ogawa in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and later reprised the role in Star Trek Generations, so her mark on the series will never be forgotten.
This famous actress was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the 1988 film, The Wash.
According to Deadline, her other film credits include “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” “Blind Spot” and “Road to Galveston,” and she has made guest appearances on popular shows like “The Closer,” “Grey's Anatomy,” “Bones,” “Flash Forward,” “The Unit” and “Cold Case.”

Yasutake was also a passionate theatre director, and contributed his talents to numerous theatre projects.
She is also survived by two siblings, Linda Hayashi and Steven Yasutake, and a large family of nieces and nephews. (Related article: Halloween series star Charles Cyphers dies at 85)
A memorial service will be held at East West Players Theatre and in honor of her memory the family requests donations be made to the theatre company.
