Star Wideout Says Team’s Miserable Season Led To ‘Worst Year Of My Life’

According to a recent report from ESPN, the New York Jets have been so bad this year that star receiver Garrett Wilson told management that it was the “worst year of his life.”

Wilson told ESPN's Bart Scott and Alan Hearn on Tuesday that he told the Jets of his misery during a postseason ventilation session as part of his exit interview.

“I would say they definitely let me vent,” he told Bart and Hahn. “They allow me to do that, and they give me insightful answers to all my questions and concerns, and they're all good answers. They have an open door policy. We had a severance meeting this week. …Even after that, we've had conversations. According to ESPN, we have an intention to make this the way it should be, so it's not a given. I don't think so,'' he said. report.

The second-year professional's comments come despite the fact that he had a reasonably successful season from a statistical standpoint. The former Buckeye enjoyed his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Still, losing for the second year in a row is not something the wideout is used to after winning for three years in Columbus.

“I hear you've had a good year. But this is the worst year of your life,” Wilson told Bart and Hahn. “That's the reality. What happened this season should never happen again.” (Related: Forget the White House — Andrew Yang is in the NFL Commissioner's Office)

Wilson was part of the recruiting team that helped pitch star quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the Jets. The youngster seemed as excited as anyone to finally have a stable quarterback in 2022 after dealing with four separate quarterbacks.

Unfortunately, the dysfunctional Jets were cursed to continue their old ways, as Rodgers ruptured his Achilles tendon on the Jets' first play from scrimmage, sending them back into the hole of QB mediocrity. It seemed like it was.

If Rodgers can bounce back from his injury and finally give the Jets and Wilson a winning season, I'll be rooting for them as much as anyone. But knowing the Jets, I would be hard pressed to bet on them winning more than seven games this year.
