arizona news – Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC) is seeking nominations across Arizona to recognize extraordinary teachers who make a difference in their communities. Established in 1998, the Esperanza Latinx Teacher Award Program is the only award in Arizona that specifically recognizes Latinx teachers whose passion positively impacts the learning environment and inspires future generations.
“Behind every great success story is a teacher who believed that their students could reach their full potential,” said Alicia Nuñez, CPLC Interim President and CEO. “CPLC is inspired by teachers who show up for their students every day and go above and beyond the call of duty to make a lasting impact outside of the classroom. Our Esperanza Award recognizes teachers and their contributions. It’s an opportunity.”
Each winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a $2,500 scholarship to their respective schools.
Candidates must be Latinx full-time teachers and must be teaching at a state-licensed or certified school in Arizona to be eligible.
