White House Deputy Chief of Staff Addresses Radical Groups
On Tuesday, Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” and stated that the administration is planning to “dismantle” radical left-wing terrorist groups in the U.S. “one at a time.” This initiative will be enacted through President Donald Trump’s executive order known as the National Security Presidential Media (NSPM).
Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), tensions between Republicans and Democrats intensified. Some Democrats even appeared to support his death publicly. Miller noted that he had been labeled a “fascist” online, asserting that the Democratic Party currently seems to promote and encourage violence.
“We’ve all witnessed the tragic reality of two attempted assassinations involving President Trump,” Miller remarked. “These bullets have taken lives.” He questioned, “What do all of these murderers and assassins have in common?”
According to Miller, these individuals have been radicalized by the rhetoric coming from Democrats, who label those with differing views as fascists and promote toxic ideologies. He added that left-wing terrorists target law enforcement, and often Democratic-led police forces are hesitant to act against them.
On Friday, California Governor Gavin Newsom’s office referred to Miller as a “fascist,” just after Republicans criticized Democrats for using such labels. The GOP quickly accused Newsom’s office of inciting violence.
In response to Kirk’s assassination, the president signed the NSPM, which condemns political violence as a serious issue rather than just random acts. Miller emphasized that the administration plans to implement a national anti-terrorism strategy under this executive order.
“This is about changing the country’s formal national security policy,” he explained. “Last week, Trump introduced the NSPM, establishing the first national strategy aimed at dismantling radical left-wing terrorist groups.”
Miller indicated that the administration will track down members of these groups and their funding sources. “We will dismantle them,” he pledged.
Since last year, the animosity between Republicans and Democrats has escalated, especially during the 2024 election cycle. Rhetoric against Trump has increased, with media outlets and former Vice President Kamala Harris being particularly vocal. She referred to a presidential candidate from the GOP as a fascist, and President Biden has suggested that Trump should face legal consequences.
Recent violence has included an attack on a Dallas facility linked to ICE, resulting in two detainees’ deaths. FBI Director Kash Patel shared a photo of a shell casing from the incident on social media, which was marked with “Anti-ICE.”
This incident followed accusations against a 63-year-old man in Sacramento, who allegedly shot at a news affiliate while making threatening comments towards high-profile individuals involved in law enforcement.
