Local Ohio weather forecaster Steve Lawrie was allegedly photographed taking part in a brawl following a road rage incident that sent an elderly couple to the hospital.
Rowley, the WCPO chief meteorologist, was allegedly involved in the incident after his son, Carter, 28, was involved in a car accident with 79-year-old Douglas Nathaniel Morrow on June 22. according to City Beat. Former Boston Red Sox player Kevin Youkilis said he witnessed the incident and rushed to help.
“Unfortunately, I was a moment late when I witnessed the horrific sequence of events, after which my intentions were to help the two people on the ground and to protect anyone else from harm,” Youkilis wrote on Facebook.
Morrow's daughter, Stacey Morrow Stickrod, Posts Following the incident, an update was posted to Facebook including video of what appeared to be a brawl. (RELATED: Courtroom melee caught on video in which murder victim's family attacks handcuffed defendant).
After the accident, she said, her father “suspected my parents had been drinking (because of the smell of alcohol) and wanted the police to be called. This caused people to become angry and my brother and parents were attacked,” she wrote.
In the video of the alleged brawl, two men are seen arguing and fighting while the woman filming yells for them to stop multiple times, before the man and woman are seen lying on the ground several feet apart.
The crowd dispersed as three men continued to shout and swear at the woman, who appeared to be bleeding from her head.
“Some damn adult… did something to my parents,” a man can be heard shouting.
“My 76-year-old mother bore the brunt of the injuries that night,” Morrow-Stickrod wrote. She appeared to have been rendered unconscious with a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain, Morrow-Stickrod said, as well as numerous bruises and cuts to her face, arms and legs.
Morrow-Stickrod said her father also suffered a concussion.
“These are well-known local people and in my opinion they are above the law,” Morrow-Stickrod wrote.
WCPO News Said They are aware of the incident involving Laurie's family. The outlet said no charges have been filed yet and that Laurie has “given her side of the story.”
“His description is consistent with the police report, which does not name him, and the video we have reviewed, which does not show the incident from start to finish. We continue to monitor the results of the official investigation,” the statement continued.
