Study suggests Birmingham Stallions will depart Alabama in significant UFL change

Birmingham Stallions May Relocate in 2026

The reigning UFL Champion Birmingham Stallions could be heading elsewhere, as reports suggest significant changes are coming to the Spring Football League.

League Insider James Larsen indicated that a former USFL team, which joined the XFL to establish the UFL last season, will be moving to a new market for the upcoming 2026 season.

There’s substantial change in store for the UFL, according to multiple sources. Teams in USFL markets like Michigan, Houston, Birmingham, and Memphis are set to relocate by the 2026 season. Expect many more shifts ahead; the UFL is making waves this offseason.

The Stallions, who have won two consecutive USFL titles and recently clinched a three-peat UFL title, may soon leave Birmingham and Alabama behind if the information holds true.

The league has not confirmed or denied these developments when asked for any comments.

“Each year, the league office evaluates options for future seasons. Right now, we have no concrete news regarding any ungrounded speculation,” the UFL stated in response to inquiries.

Larsen later indicated potential new locations for this previous USFL team, which might include Boise (Idaho), Columbus (Ohio), Florida—likely Orlando—and Kentucky (Louisville or Lexington).

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin mentioned that the decision isn’t finalized, noting ongoing discussions within the league.

“We’ve heard unofficial rumors; however, the league assures us that no final decisions have been made for next season regarding many teams, including the Stallions,” Woodfin shared on Wednesday.

We were taken aback by these rumors since Stallions are already in the process of collecting deposits…
