Mr. Hostin has been the owner of Hostin Orthopedics in New York City since February 2006, according to the complaint filed Dec. 17. He allegedly “knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other health care services” and billed insurance companies.

According to the Daily Mail, Hostin’s lawyer, Daniel Thwaites, said his client denies all allegations and calls the lawsuit “an all-out, sporadic, pointless lawsuit by an insurance company on the brink of bankruptcy.” ” The lawyers accused the insurance companies of “abusing the legal system to limit and restrict medical benefits” to their customers.
