Rapper Kendrick Lamar will headline the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show on February 9, 2025 in New Orleans.
Lamar announced he will lead Sunday's halftime show in a video posted to his official website. YouTube The video, which was shared on his channel and Instagram account, sees the famous rapper using a blue machine to hurl multiple footballs at the camera, set against the backdrop of a large American flag hanging from a football field, and casually asking whether viewers will be watching his performance.

“How's everyone doing? My name is Kendrick Lamar and I'm performing at Super Bowl LIX. Are you coming?” Lamar asked. “I hope you can come.”
“You only get one chance to win the championship. There will be no second round. Let's go for it!” the rapper said.
Lamar previously performed on the halftime show stage in 2022 as part of Dr. Dre's Hip-Hop Showcase. According to The announcement was made by Billboard, but Lamar has yet to headline a Super Bowl halftime show.

“Rap music remains the most influential genre,” Lamar said, “and I'm here to remind the world why: They made the right choice.”
According to the outlet, creative direction for Lamar's halftime show performance will be handled by ppLang, the creative label he co-founded.
According to Billboard, Lamar hasn't released an album since Mr. Moral and the Big Steppers in May 2022. However, he did provide guest lyrics on “Future” and the Metro Boomin' Hot 100 No. 1 single “Like That,” which sparked a rap feud with Drake.
In 2023, singer Rihanna headlined the halftime show at the 55th Super Bowl.
