Suspect In Tupac Shakur’s Murder Granted Bail: REPORT

A Las Vegas judge granted Tupac Shakur murder suspect Duane Davis bail in court Tuesday, TMZ reported.

Davis, known as “Keef D,” is awaiting the start of his criminal trial and could be released from prison if he can post $750,000 bail. according to TMZ. His lawyer argued he was not a danger to society and assured Judge Keefe D that he did not pose a flight risk. The sole suspect in Shakur's murder has been held in the Clark County Jail since September, when he was charged with killing the legendary rapper in a case that has captivated the nation for decades.

The cold case was reopened after Keef D publicly declared that he was in the car on the fateful night of the shooting that took Shakur's life in 1996, the paper said. Shakur was reportedly in a car driven by music mogul Suge Knight, who is currently in prison on unrelated charges.

Keefe D reportedly claims he didn't pull the trigger, but admitted several times that he knows what happened the night of the shooting. According to TMZ, he was taken into custody based on his own claims after a raid was conducted on his residence.

TMZ reports that the suspect's defense team maintains his not guilty plea and claims in court that Keef D took part in the murder for fun and money, but there is no question what the actual crime was. He claims that there is no relationship between them.

According to the paper, prosecutors argued that Keef D was responsible for the murder of the famous artist and that he should go to prison for that crime. (Related: Suge Knight flips his story on hip-hop legend Tupac Shakur's death)

The judge reportedly set a high bail, and even if someone were to post the $750,000 bail, Keef D would be placed under house arrest and electronically monitored until his trial begins. I repeated that it would happen.

The paper added that he will remain in jail until or unless someone offers bail.
