NBC reports that police believe they have the perpetrators in custody. His name has yet to be released, but Outlaw described him as a 40-year-old man.
Outlaw said officers were responding to the initial shootings on 56th Street and Chester Street when they heard more gunshots on the streets of Kingsessing Street. “Our officers were able to arrest a man in a back alley at 1600 Frazier Street when he was wearing a bulletproof vest and had multiple magazines in his vest. He also had a scanner and an AR-style rifle and handgun under his body.He was taken into custody without incident,” Outlaw continued.
The shootout took place in a “2 by 4 block radius” area, with multiple vehicles punctured by gunfire. NBC reports that police found about 50 used cartridges from the spree.
The five dead victims ranged in age from 20 to 59, according to the newspaper. Outlaw said police believed all of the victims were men. (Related: Democratic candidate for Philadelphia mayor calls for police station ‘repair’)

One of the reported fatalities, a 31-year-old man, was found dead by his father, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, at a nearby residence. Said NBC Philadelphia. The newspaper said police believe his death was related to a drinking party because a shell casing found at his home matched the trajectory of an earlier gunshot.
