PHOENIX – A suspect in Wednesday night’s shooting in northeast Phoenix said he pulled the trigger in self-defense.
Phoenix police said they received a call of gunfire near Greenway Road and 56th Street around 9 p.m.
They found Dylan Forbes, a 24-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound in his car.
“The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Cameron Drake, left the scene, called police, and said he shot Forbes magazine in self-defense,” Sgt. Melissa Solis said in a release. increase.
Officers found Drake and took him into custody. After being questioned at police headquarters, he was imprisoned for second-degree murder. Prosecutors will decide whether formal charges will be filed in this case.
According to preliminary information, the shooting occurred during the conflict. Police said Drake, Forbes, and another man were in the car at the time.
An unidentified third man also called police after the shooting.
