A man who died in a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, suffered a gunshot wound to the head before the explosion, authorities said Thursday.
Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a news conference Thursday that the suspect who died inside the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded Wednesday morning, Matthew Alan Libersberger, had a gunshot wound to the head and a handgun near his feet. He said there was. Police have not specifically confirmed that Riversberger was the person killed in the incident.
“As I have said, his body was charred beyond recognition, and I [still do] “We’re not 100% sure that was the person in our vehicle,” McMahill said. “And until we get confirmation through DNA or medical records that this is actually the person in that vehicle, the person of interest or person, as I now call it. I’m not coming back. Further complicating this person’s identification is the fact that the coroner’s office also determined that this person had a gunshot wound to the head before the vehicle exploded. One of the guns was found at the foot of the car.
