The illegally terrifying suspect in the US in Iran has been reportedly accused of beating and tortureing his wife before the Trump administration took him into custody.
Prosecutors in Harris County, Texas, condemned Yousef Mehridehno in 2007 attacks on his family, court records show. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) Arrest Merideno, Mississippi, declared on Sunday in Mississippi as a “known or suspicious terrorist” with fraudulent visas, as federal officials warned of increased risk of Iran-inspired attacks on U.S. soil. Harris County authorities claimed Merideno beat his wife, burning her and attempting to attack her with a knife, WLBT3 reportedquoting documents from the case. The District Attorney’s Office tried to convict him for two years, but according to the outlet, procedural issues, such as errors in filing, were blocked until the charges were ultimately dismissed.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation. He was unable to reach Merideno’s lawyer.
Mehridehno was one of several Iranian national ice that was arrested over the weekend when President Donald Trump bombed Iran’s nuclear sites on Saturday, the DHS said in a press release on Tuesday. DHS was labelled him as a known or suspicious terrorist in February, but the agency said in 2017 that he “lied about his original visa application and that he had committed a potential marriage scam,” the press release stated.
Other Iranians detained included people with ties to Iranian-backed terrorist Hezbollah and Iranian military forces, according to the DHS.
Sunday DHS Notes “Virtual extremists” warned that there was a high possibility of terrorist attacks in the United States due to Trump’s strike.
