There are plenty of fish in the Red Sea and more than 35 million registered Republicans nationwide. And for lonely Mojave County conservatives, there’s an app to help find them.
Travelers to and from Lake Havasu City may have noticed a new sign in the Parker area promoting dating app The Right Stuff. The app, which launched in September, has already earned him more than 4.7 million likes on Tik Tok. According to a spokesperson for Beverly Hills-based Cheryl J. Kagan, Wright’s staff now ranks him second only to Tinder in popularity of this kind of app.
The Right Stuff is a dating app designed for conservative singles, divorcees and widows who share similar values. Founder and former Trump staffer John McEntee has since spoken about the application with TV hosts, including Dr. Phil and Tucker Carlson. McEntee’s advertising efforts have thus far been primarily focused on Southern California, and his new billboard in Parker is the first for his company in Mohave County and his La Paz County.
The 12-by-24-foot sign is expected to be seen by about 47,000 people a week on State Route 95, according to Louisiana-based Lamar Advertising Company.
McEntee spoke with Today’s News-Herald about the new billboard on Tuesday.
“We’re trying to get a Spring Break crowd in Havasu, but we also have a lot of conservatives in that area of Arizona,” McEntee said. I did.”
McEntee said the app focuses on young Republicans in areas with a large conservative presence, but conservatives may not be in the political majority. Southern California has long remained largely liberal on the political spectrum, with many Republicans looking for allies to share their views.
For Parker, however, McEntee says it may be too early to know what impact the ads for his new app have had.
“People were interested and contacted us,” McEntee said. “We directed them to the app. Once we see how popular the app is in Arizona, we may run more ads throughout the Southwest.”
McEntee is a former Fox News production assistant who once helped maintain the network’s social media presence. He joined Trump as a volunteer in his campaign in 2015 and became the president’s personal aide after Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election. He was later removed from that role, but returned to the Trump administration in 2020 as director of the Office of Presidential Personnel Affairs.
After Trump lost in 2020, McEntee turned his attention to other conservative initiatives, eventually deciding to found The Right Staff. The app launched in late September with funding from PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
“When me and my co-founders left the Trump administration, we wanted to do something different,” McEntee said. “When I thought about my experience with dating sites, I realized conservatives were not very representative. There are dating apps out there for every group of people… apps for Republicans.” It’s been four months since we launched and we’re seeing steady growth.”
