‘System Is Corrupt’: Newt Gingrich Says Dems Defending Bureaucracy Face ‘Big Mountain To Climb’ For Midterms

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Ginrich told Fox News Monday evening that Democrats continue to defend the “bureaucracy” and would face a “big mountain to climb” in the 2026 medium-term elections.

Democrats have protested because President Donald Trump has the driving force to clean up government, including cutting government spending and government jobs, and say that moves that overturn the US Agency for International Development (USAID) are illegal. Fox host Sean Hannity asked Ginrich what he thought as lawmakers continue to protest at events like Trump’s joint speech to Congress on March 4th.

“The System is corrupt”: Newt Ginrich calls Dems the face of bureaucracy “climbing a big mountain for the middle.” Everything I have shown before says what Lincoln said in Gettysburg, “This is a test of whether this system or the system conceived by Liberty can survive.” You have a hard-line group that believes they have the right to be violent and that they have the right to deny the American people their leadership choices. “The answer to all of that is frankly, you have to lock them in.”

In February, government efficiency director Elon Musk announced during the X-Space debate that he and Trump had agreed to overturn USAID and transfer their leadership to Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Despite reports that taxpayer dollars have been wasted on the unchecked USAID program for years, Democrats gathered against Musk and Trump, with some lawmakers declaring “war.” (Related: “Democrats are such a chaos”: Charlamane, popular comedian quizzes questions about Dems’ odds to regain his strength in 2028)

The protests against the mask have targeted Tesla, his popular electric car company. Some facilities, like Oregon, faced serious damage after someone fired gunshots at multiple cars and crushed them last Thursday. According to Go to Fox News.

“You need to enforce the law, the period. At some point people start to realize that you can’t do war with the whole American,” Ginrich said. “In that sense, I would argue that Elon Musk is simply one of those serving Americans. He is a senior adviser to the US president. In that sense, I think all this is completely unacceptable, like harassing a Supreme Court judge or dislike the Vice President and his three-year-old.”

Ginrich said he and his wife attended Trump’s Union speech and later wrote in his newsletter that party’s House members appeared like “zombie Democrats.”

“They couldn’t praise anything. They couldn’t praise the president. They couldn’t praise the 13-year-old cancer survivor,” Ginrich said. “They couldn’t praise the young man who wanted to go to West Point. They couldn’t praise the people who lost their loved ones. It was pretty weird.”

Just minutes after Trump’s Union speech, Democrat Texas Rep. Al Green was kicked out of the room after repeatedly yelling at the president. Particularly, fellow Democrats were seen not rooting for Trump’s recipient, 13-year-old DJ Daniel.

“But in reality, Democrats don’t have a solution right now. They’re so furious that Trump is actually changing what Americans believe is a corrupt system,” Ginrich said.

“Our new American majority project voted yesterday. 82% of Americans think the system is corrupt. Now, it’s dangerous for the survival of freedom, but Democrats who want to protect bureaucracy, corruption and waste will also tell you. They’ll have a big mountain to climb in 2026.”
