District 74, Democratic State Representative Philip Ensler will host a district town hall meeting. The meeting, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2 p.m., will be held at the Chisholm Community Center.
The meeting's agenda includes a series of topics that are at the forefront of local and state concerns. Mr. Ensler has an extensive background in law, policy advice and education and is expected to delve into important issues such as gun violence, mental health services and criminal justice reform. These aren't just topics for Ensler. These are pressing issues that deeply impact residents of the 74th District and communities across Alabama.
Mr. Ensler's commitment to civil rights and social justice is well documented. During his tenure as Senior Policy Advisor in Mayor Stephen L. Reed's Office, he worked on important public policy initiatives such as education, criminal justice, and public health, among others. His leadership has been especially evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, as executive director of the Jewish Federation of Central Alabama, Mr. Ensler is a vocal opponent of anti-Semitism and a supporter of interfaith coalitions aimed at combating racism.
City Hall is not only a place for Mr. Ensler to express his opinions, but also an opportunity for open dialogue. Mr. Ensler's grassroots approach to leadership is to meet residents where they are and keep them informed and empowered.
Even for those who can't make it to the venue in person, this event is not out of reach. The livestream will be available to watch on Congresswoman Ensler's Facebook page so no one will miss this discussion.
