America is back so much!
As for the US sports scene, hockey usually doesn’t get into the spotlight unless you’re talking about the Stanley Cup final. And yet, they have to compete with the NBA Finals.
That being said, hockey was able to find center stage on Saturday night when Team USA faced Canada in a four-country showdown and the Americans got the dub. (Related: “literally unshakable”: The NBA that activates China gets caught up in oblivion after an incredibly awful All-Star Game)
It’s funny, hockey is not the most popular sport in the United States, so it’s not even in conversation. And Canada isn’t just their biggest sport. Sports. And we still kicked their ass! And as ESPN portrayed 4.4 million viewers for the game, the Americans were there to enjoy it. This is absolutely insane number for American hockey.

In other words, the NHL has been a success replacing the All-Star weekend with an international tournament!
