Authorities announced Thursday that the mother had been arrested on suspicion of inciting a riot that drew 500 people in Florida in May.
Stephanie Pedroso, 36, was arrested on suspicion of inciting violence in the May 18 incident. according to According to a press release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO), Pedroso had booked a birthday party for his daughter at Astroskate, an ice rink in Brandon, Florida, but the party was ultimately canceled.
The sheriff's office said Pedroso, 36, appeared to have violated his contract with the rink by “failing to have off-duty security available for the after-hours party.” Astroskate canceled the reservation and provided Pedroso with a refund, according to a press release.
Pedroso then allegedly used his daughter's social media pages to encourage “her friends to show up and commit violence in the local community, including the many businesses surrounding Astroskate,” according to the press release.
“If they're still out there, go and beat the crap out of them. I've got money for you guys, I'll pay you big bucks,” Pedroso reportedly said during an Instagram Live broadcast, according to HCSO.
“I hope everyone comes over tomorrow and beats the crap out of this bitch,” her mother reportedly said. “I'm going to stress you all out.”
Riots broke out at the skating rink and at nearby stores, with between 400 and 500 people fighting, the sheriff's office said. Said The incident occurred in May. Police on the scene issued warnings to those involved, but “the crowd continued fighting, damaging and stealing from businesses and disrupting business,” the press release said.

“Let me be clear: using social media to incite rioting and vandalizing business will never be tolerated. We will not tolerate it in Hillsborough County,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a press release Thursday. “This is a stark reminder of how quickly a situation can spiral out of control and shows the importance of acting responsibly and the consequences of inciting violence.”
Pedroso was charged with inciting a riot, unlawful use of a two-way communication device and driving with a suspended license, authorities said.
