Ted Cruz endorses Barry Moore in GOP primary – ‘not afraid to take a stand’



U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has endorsed Congressman Barry Moore in a tight Republican primary race against Congressman Jerry Kahl (R-Mobile) in Alabama's newly created 1st Congressional District. There are only two weeks left until voting day.

“Since 2021, Barry Moore has been a strong voice in Congress fighting for secure borders, fiscal conservatism, and the people born to birth,” said Sen. Cruz (R-Texas). . “Barry has proven that he is not afraid to stand up for himself and make tough votes. He is definitely the leader that Alabama's 1st District needs in Congress, and I am I am proud to support him today.”

Cruz, a leading conservative and 2016 Republican presidential primary candidate, has supported candidates in the Yellowhammer state over the years, including a 2022 Senate bid. That includes the campaigns of former U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks, who is running for office, and former state Sen. Bill Hightower, who is running against Jerry Carl. 2020.
