Israeli police have arrested 89 suspects after the discovery of a large quantity of weapons that may have been part of a plot to harm soccer fans in Tel Aviv, a Twitter account announced on Wednesday.

Police said 89 suspects were detained for questioning.
“During the operation, approximately 100 construction iron bars, a baseball and metal bat, a Japanese sword, 20 smoke bombs, naval fireworks, a veil, and gloves were seized from the suspect's possession,” police said in a statement in Hebrew.
