Tennessee’s legislature has passed by overwhelmingly recently Success Sequence Methodrequires public schools to teach them about the positive outcomes of their paths of life, graduating from high school, moving on to work and further education, getting married and having children. That’s not bad advice, but I’m wondering about the merits of the state legislature that provides it. After all, we don’t run a week of scientist guidance module, or charity.
So, what’s going on here? On one level it’s as easy as our legislators can effectively scream. I wonder if they’ve ever thought about how their messages were received 10 years ago and how they received them from their teenagers. Furthermore, it may be as ineffective as sex education that is abstinence alone. November 2024 Research Article Journal of School Health “Several studies have shown that comprehensive sexuality programs are more effective than abstinence-only programs to reduce dangerous sexual behaviors and improve knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to sexual activity,” the researchers write.
But on another level, this is true to the political reality described in the book “Moral Politics” and “Don’t Think About Elephants!” Self-proclaimed conservatives, and they dominate our state legislatures and consider successful and wealthy people to have achieved this position because of moral clarity and good life choices. The poor are in their positions by lazyness, orgy, and bad choices. Liberals are paying more attention to social conditions. Wealth often comes from inheritance and comes from poverty, such as low wages and declining healthcare.
“Success Sequence” invoices pass through the house and head to the governor’s desk for signature
Our Congress’s success sequence law is not a virtue that refers to students, but a signal of virtue to voters. This is a cut-and-paste method from the Right-wing Heritage Foundation, already adopted in Utah and already adopted in Mississippi, Kentucky, Texas and Ohio.
Tennessee sponsor Rep. Gino Bruso of Brentwood believes that such an attitude in favor of nuclear families is the best remedy for poverty. At least not from him. He is in a public policy position and therefore needs to approach this from a public policy perspective. We need to increase the minimum wage, take advantage of more opportunities for postsecondary education, and limit child labor. Sadly, Bruso and other lawmakers are in a severe shortage of these policy angles.
Members of the Tennessee Legislature may not be the best members to bring such success to life advice. Sen. Brian Kelsey reported it to prison after pleading guilty to a campaign finance violation. I was pardoned President Trump. Ju-dean found former Senator Katrina Robinson guilty Wire fraud Senator Ken Jager The face driving under Georgia’s influence. Former House Speaker Glenn in January 2021 Casada And other Tennessee legislators had their homes and offices. Attack A Federal Bureau of Investigation investigates the laundry campaign money.
Casada and his former chief of staff will be charged by a federal university ju trial, which was charged with theft, bribery and kickback, and the pair will be brought to trial on April 22nd. It’s fine for our Congress to want to respect the success of life as long as they remember that they’re not Pope. We can seek moral clarity from pastors, parents, successful relatives, and other positive forces in young life. As for our legislators, some of the laws that open doors for young people will be making better use of their time.
Get the morning heading.
