Terminally Ill MN Man Wakes Up to Find His Van & Wheelchair Gone

Imagine a 26-year-old man suffering from what doctors call terminal ALS. Life is pretty tough, but it gets even tougher when the equipment you rely on to live a quasi-normal life is taken away.

That’s what happened to 26-year-old Kyle Schultz from St. Paul.according to a story from Fox9.com Mr. Schultz’s doorbell camera recorded someone checking his driveway for a specially equipped vehicle, then getting in and driving away.

It wasn’t just Schultz’s 2012 Tahoe that was stolen, but a variety of important equipment inside the car was also stolen. His power wheelchair, vest for his service dog Deuce, and a ramp were all in the stolen car.

“I just want my chair back,” Schultz said. , take the dog to the park and spend it in a chair.” Chair. “

Schultz was diagnosed with ALS at the young age of 24, and doctors gave him one to three years to live. His mobility continues to decline as the disease progresses.

“With no more trucks, no more wheelchairs, I don’t even know what we’re going to do,” said Schultz’s mother, Jody Halverson. “I don’t understand anything. I’m just lost.”
