New York Giants general manager Joe Schon told reporters the team plans to discuss the quarterback position, and I might actually be optimistic about Giants football for the first time in years. He said he could not.
“We will respond according to our position,” Schoen told the media. “That's possible through free agency. It doesn't preclude us from doing it in the draft as well.”
I'm hesitant to actually believe this since the Giants have consistently disappointed me since they last won the Super Bowl 12 years ago, but I'm excited considering the excitement of the upcoming draft's quarterback class. I can't help it.
The Giants currently have the No. 6 overall pick, so they may not be in a position to land one of the consensus top three QBs, but there's always a chance they could be traded up.
Virtually every draft analyst expects the Chicago Bears to select USC's Caleb Williams if they decide to keep the No. 1 overall pick, but he could be traded out of that slot. Sex still exists.

After that, most analysts believe the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots will select a combination of LSU's Jaden Daniels and UNC's Drake Maye. (Related article: NFL superstar QB compares himself to Jesus' father as he talks about how his wife is raising their son)
If all teams continue to hold on to their picks, the Giants will be left with very few options at six teams, including Michigan's JJ McCarthy and Washington's Michael Penix Jr. (still my favorite name).

However, if a player the Patriots really like falls to the Patriots, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Schoen signing a deal to acquire the Patriots' pick.
Leonard Williams acquired additional second-rounder from Seahawks transaction, they have enough capital to get promoted. New England is in an eerily similar situation to the Giants, but they also have a young, underperforming first-round QB in Jones, but if you don't like the other three options, you're good with the Giants. There is a possibility that he will find a partner and transfer. Moved down 3 places.

While many of these trade scenarios are unlikely to happen, it's at least reassuring to see the GM admit that something needs to be done. The Giants have had a mediocre effort for over a decade, and the main reason for that has been quarterback play. It's time for them to find their next guy, and it's looking less likely that Daniel Jones will be it.
