Blaze Media CEO Glenn Beck slammed Republican presidential candidate Asa Hutchinson’s performance in an interview Friday with Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson.
Hutchinson is one of several Republican presidential candidates who gave an exclusive interview with Carlson a month before the first debate. Mr. Carlson pressured Mr. Hutchinson on several issues, most notably his veto power over a bill banning child sex reassignment in April 2021.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it before,” Beck said. “You know, at one point in America, there were hundreds of people looking up at the sky with their hopes and dreams… They thought it was a one-way street, but 29 seconds later the whole Hindenberg was on the move. I was on the ground. And I think that’s probably what we saw today. “

Mr. Carlson asked Mr. Hutchinson about referring to surgery as a “treatment” when in fact it is surgery that distorts the child’s natural development. The former Arkansas governor quickly took a defensive stance, saying the issue was very “sensitive” and should be left to the child’s parents. Hutchinson then pointed out his opposition to former President Barack Obama’s guidance for public schools to allow children to use the toilet of their choice. Carlson went on to question how one could support children’s choice of gender identity while opposing their use of certain toilets.
“But you said that children should be able to choose their gender, that parents should be able to affirm it, and that there are no rules for the state to get involved. Does that mean kids shouldn’t choose their toilet, but they can choose their gender? I don’t know,” Carlson said during the interview.
“Let me finish what I said,” Hutchinson replied. “If you don’t mind, let me finish.”
“Yes, please,” Carlson replied.
“And finally, I told President Obama that it would be a mistake to do it publicly and that school districts can ignore that guidance,” the former governor continued. “So I don’t think the government should impose an agenda on our schools. And that’s what I’m against.”
The report concludes that the effects of hormone therapy and puberty blockers are often irreversible, damaging fertility, bone density and mental health. Several European counties, including the United Kingdom, Sweden, Norway and Finland, have classified the treatment as “experimental” and recommended discontinuing hormone administration to minors.
