The 96th Academy Awards is staying true to its reputation despite already pissing people off with some major slights.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on March 10, but some of Hollywood's biggest actors have already been ignored and insulted. Once again, this highly criticized show was firmly entrenched in its historical reputation for messing things up before it even started.

Apparently, box office numbers don't necessarily matter to the Oscar powers that be.
Barbie director Greta Gerwig was left off the nomination list despite her film being the highest-grossing film of 2023. Gerwig has a history of being ignored and scorned by the Oscars for her work on Little Women. Her efforts in the film, which grossed at least $2.4 billion at the box office, were not enough to warrant a nomination.
Fans of “The Color Purple” know that the film deserves more than a lone nomination for Best Supporting Actress for Danielle Brooks. This means that the film has been removed from the nominations for Best Motion Picture or Musical. Fantasia Barrino and Taraji P. Henson were completely excluded.

The Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations clearly meant nothing to the Academy Awards. This is because he did not follow the same rules regarding “Saltburn''. The Emerald Fennell-directed film was omitted entirely.

Although Margot Robbie was recognized at every other major awards show, the Oscars chose to be different by completely ignoring her leading role in the year's top-grossing film.
Leonardo DiCaprio was not considered for Killers of the Flower Moon, but Lily Gladstone was nominated. I just want to know, how? Did they not notice his starring role in the movie?

Other targets of shocking scorn included Penelope Cruz in Ferrari, Julianne Moore in May December, Willem Dafoe in a supporting role in Poor Thing, and Ava DuVernay's “Origin” etc.
Not only did the Oscars exclude some top actors, they also managed to insult some of the biggest names in music.
Olivia Rodrigo – Can’t Catch Me Now
Dua Lipa's “Dance the Night Away” from “Barbie” was completely ignored, compared to Lenny Kravitz's “Road to Freedom” from “Rustin'” and Olivia Rodrigo's “The Hunger Games”. “Can't Catch Me Now” was no different.(Related: The Golden Globes were an utter disgrace)
Dance the Night Away – Dua Lipa
We hope to nominate it for the 2024 Academy Awards in the Top Film category.
