The rain and snow will start late Sunday night | Weather

Tucson (KVOA) – Increasing clouds in southern Arizona tonight with the chance of rain and snow.

Tucson and the rest of Pima County are projects that will only have rain for the life of the system. Early Monday snow is preserved above 5000 feet.

That snow will rain in much of Cochise and Santa Cruz counties all day Monday.

Late Monday and early Tuesday are the best chances of seeing snow at lower elevations. The lowest expected snowfall is about 4000 to 4500 feet before the system moves in on Tuesday morning.

Cities to watch for snowfall Monday night are Oracle, Wilcox, Bisbee, Sierra Vista, and Benson. All of these areas can see 1/2 inch to 2 inches of snow cover.

Precipitation forecast for Tucson is still very wide. Some models see 1/4 inch of rain, while others see 1 inch of rain.

Snow and rain are followed by the coldest temperatures of the season.

Tucson’s highs will struggle to hit the mid-50s, while nighttime lows will drop to below freezing for much of the city.

  • Tonight: It will start raining after midnight. Low: 46°
  • Tomorrow: Rainy and cold. High: 53°
  • Tomorrow night: rain, cloudy. Low: 35°
