The Republican who whips the votes explains when bills move ahead

Hardister is also the whip of the House majority, so it’s his job to figure out votes in the House GOP caucuses before the bill is taken into law.

They now have a supermajority, not just a majority, in the General Assembly. But the most important thing about important issues is often whether there is majority support.
