‘There Seems To Be A Missing Chip With You’: Hannity Asks Taylor Lorenz To Explain Recent Comments About Murdered CEO

Fox’s Sean Hannity asked former Washington Post columnist Taylor Lorenz on Wednesday evening about her “losing” comments about CEO Assassin Luigi Mangione’s allegations.

In his recent Sunday appearance on CNN, Lorenz received backlash after a woman supporting Mangion said she would describe him as “innovative”, “handsome” and “smart.” In “Honey,” Lorenz was first asked about the defense of Mangione and his supporters.

Lorenz tried to pivot over a complaint about the health care system.

“If you can talk about healthcare, that’s not a topic. I don’t like the healthcare system either, and many people are experiencing the kind of frustration you say. For me, apart from the admiration argument, they are called “handsome, smart, intelligent,” and are pleased with the deaths and assassinations of innocent people.

“Your comments are basically putting your seal of approval on murder and assassination. I’m trying to understand if you like this guy, like he’s going to do business or not. You defend the assassination and put Smiley’s face down,” added Hannity. “I’m trying to understand what’s not understood in your soul. He’s the father and husband here. What are you missing? It seems you have a chip you lack.”

In December 2024, authorities detained 26-year-old Luigi Mangionne in connection with the murder of New York City’s United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Lorenz continued to ask Hannity if he wanted to hear her question about his question, saying he needed to speak “to explain.”

“I don’t want rationalization. I want you to think about what you said. Explain what you said,” replied Hannity.

“I know exactly what I said,” Lorenz said. “Again, I’m trying to do it right now, so I’m asking you to give me some space and try and listen here.

“I once again said I felt joy in millions of Americans. [or] Billions of truly wealthy and privileged Americans are forced to wake up to the reality that nearly 70,000 Americans die each year due to a lack of health insurance,” added Lorenz.
