“They Sing For Him, They Chant For His Release”: Noem Criticizes Democrats For Supporting ‘Disturbing Individual’ Abrego Garcia

Homeland Security Secretary Critiques Democrats’ Support for Abrego Garcia

Homeland Security Secretary Christa Noem has expressed her disapproval of Democrats supporting Kilmer Armando Abrego Garcia on Fox News’ “Hannity.” This comes despite attempts by the Trump administration to deport Abrego Garcia to Uganda. However, US District Judge Paula Sinis, an Obama appointee, has ordered that he stay in custody until further evidence hearings.

During the segment, Fox’s Sean Hannity questioned Noem, expressing confusion over why Democrats would back someone with alleged gang affiliations. Noem responded, “I don’t understand that either, Sean,” and added that Abrego Garcia is a serious offender who recruited minors and is linked to terrorism and human trafficking. She criticized the Democrats for their perceived support, saying, “They sing for him.”

Noem went on to assert that the so-called “woke activists” backing Abrego Garcia would ultimately be rejected by the American public. She maintained that people appreciate President Trump’s focus on law enforcement and prioritizing American citizens over individuals like Abrego Garcia.

Since March, Democrats have rallied behind Abrego Garcia, who was deported to a major prison in El Salvador during the Trump administration. By June, he had been brought back to the U.S. and faced criminal charges related to human smuggling.

After being released from a Tennessee State Jail, Abrego Garcia was apprehended again by federal immigration officials, who aimed to deport him to Africa or Central America. However, Judge Sinis temporarily halted his deportation, citing jurisdictional issues and Uganda’s unwillingness to accept him.

Before his detention on Monday, Abrego Garcia participated in a rally advocating against his deportation, assuring supporters he would reunite with his family. He thanked his supporters in Spanish, followed by an English translation.

An April report from the Department of Justice detailed local law enforcement’s evidence linking Abrego Garcia to the MS-13 gang dating back to 2019.
