Tuba City Independence Day Celebration
On July 3rd, there’s going to be a celebration at the West Navajo Fairgrounds featuring karaoke, a Jump Castle, coed volleyball tournaments, dunk tanks, food vendors, and fireworks. The Navajo Social Song and Dance will have a cultural backdrop, hosted by Vern Attity and Brian Malicutl, with performances echoing through the area. The doors will open at 2 PM, and the grand entry is set for 3 PM. Dancers and singers are encouraged to join in. You might want to bring your own chair. There’s even a contest for eating hot dogs at 9 PM. At 10 PM, the Hopi clans will perform in a cultural arena tent. Entry is $10.
Cayentine Dependence Week Activities
A free celebration for elders will take place at Monument Valley High School on July 2nd at 10 AM. July 3rd features a Slack Rodeo at the Kay Entero property starting at 9 AM, along with a free Glow Walk and Zumba session in the Wells Fargo parking lot. The inaugural rodeo performance is scheduled for 7:30 PM at the Rodeo Ground. On July 4th, the “Respect, Honor, Appreciation” parade will kick off at 10 AM, with the float line opening at 9:30 AM next to the Kayenta Fire Station. The parade should wrap up around noon. Free singing and dancing will occur at the MVHS Beats Gym, also starting at 10 AM. A second rodeo performance is on July 5th at 7:30 PM, followed by a free music festival at Cayentare Creation Park from noon until midnight. At 7:30 PM, the top 12 riders from the rodeo will showcase their skills. And don’t miss the fireworks display at 10 PM—it’s supposed to be quite a sight.
Just Move the 5K Run/Walk Series
The Winslow Indian Health Care Center invites you to participate in the 28th Just Move It Run/Walk series, which will include a health fair at all events. The series launches on June 26th at the Teetso Community Center, then continues on July 3rd at the Jeddito branch, July 10th at the White Corn multipurpose gym, and July 17th at Indian Wells School. On July 24th, the event takes place at Nizhoni Trail, Navajo County, Holbrook, and concludes at the Dicon Medical Center on July 31st. Hopi Run on July 12th Footprint

Hopi Cultural Center’s 1st Annual Art Festival
The Hopi Cultural Center will hold its first annual art festival at Mesa on August 2nd from 9 AM to 5 PM. The festival will feature Native artists, live performances, food, and demonstrations.
