Three former Auburn players chosen on the last day of the NFL Draft

The Auburn Tigers have faced their share of challenges on the football field lately. While it’s not quite what supporters hope for, they do manage to send a decent number of players to the NFL.

This trend continued during last weekend’s NFL Draft, where three former Auburn players found new homes.

Fans eager to see who got picked had to wait until the final day, which turned out to be quite eventful.

The first Auburn player selected was running back Jarquez Hunter, picked in the fourth round at No. 117 overall by the Los Angeles Rams. It’s a big opportunity for him.

Just a round later, another Auburn standout, wide receiver Keandre Lambert-Smith, was chosen by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fifth round as the No. 158 pick. Pretty exciting for him, right?

Finally, in the sixth round, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Jalen McRed as the 194th pick. He’s expected to bring some solid talent to their defensive lineup.

On the undrafted side, quarterback Payton Thorn signed with the Cincinnati Bengals, linebacker Eugene Asante joined the Miami Dolphins, and tight ends rival Fairweather landed contracts with the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings.
