Three killed in Southern California plane crash

Three people were killed when a small plane crashed into a hangar at Cable Airport in Upland on Sunday morning, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

The plane, a single-engine Beechcraft P35, crashed during departure around 6:30 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Officials said a nearby fire brigade was called to the scene and found three crew members dead. The identities of the residents have not been released.

The FAA has announced that the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.

Cable Airport is a public-use general aviation airport founded in 1945 by Dewey and Maud Cable. The airport is still privately owned and operated by the Cable family, but could not be reached for comment.
