Tim Scott Announces Engagement To Girlfriend

Republican South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott announced Sunday that he is engaged to his girlfriend, Mindy North.

Scott proposed to Noka on a beach on Kiawah Island in South Carolina on Saturday night. according to to the Washington Post. The senator attached two photos to his social media post with his girlfriend, one of him smiling and the other of Scott on one knee in front of Noche. Ta.

Scott wrote to X: “She said YES. Mindy, thank you for making me the luckiest man in the world.”

The senator also quoted a Bible verse at the end of the caption.

“'He that finds a wife finds good, and finds favor with the Lord' – Proverbs 18:22,” Scott wrote.

Scott proposed to North at a campaign event in Concord, New Hampshire, a day after North formally endorsed former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Scott has suspended his campaign in the November Republican primary, acknowledging that voters have told him, “Tim, not now.”

Scott met North at church a year ago and they connected through Bible study. The 58-year-old senator said his fiancée is a Charleston-based design and renovation consultant and the mother of three children, according to the paper. “My joke is that I knew it the moment I saw her picture. But the truth is, about two weeks after it started, I realized something very different was going on with her and her faith. “I realized something,” Scott said. “After that first conversation, which lasted about an hour and a half or two hours, we finally decided to do a Bible study together.”

According to the newspaper, Scott received permission from Noche's parents to propose before Christmas. He said he was “patient and playful” and “a little nervous” but overall “grateful to have found my soulmate.”
