My guess is that Tim Scott blew it. He had a chance to prove to Donald Trump that he was just as hateful, vindictive, and vengeful as Trump.

Trump took on the challenge in New Hampshire after winning the Republican primary there. Scott, a Trump supporter, stood behind Trump on stage.

President Trump criticized Nikki Haley and suggested Scott must hate her. Scott blew it. Not only did Scott not profess her hatred for Haley, she claimed that she loved Trump.

Some people may think so right off the bat. If you rub the animal's belly, it may purr.

perhaps. But it also proved that Scott doesn't harbor the same hatred as Trump. He doesn't have the stomach to be mean or mean.

In Trump's world, Scott is prey, not predator. He's weak. Some might say he's a punk. Mr. Trump would definitely do that.

Yes, that's a harsh evaluation. But please listen. This isn't about politics. It's not that Scott is a Republican or a conservative.

And it's not at all a backhanded attempt to smear him as “Uncle Tom,” a derogatory term routinely thrown at black Republicans and conservatives. I learned early in life that while I may disagree with black conservatives and Republicans, it is inaccurate and unfair to characterize them as such.

My father was a person who enlightened me. My father, the late Josiah Parson, was a card-carrying Republican. I think this was a hot topic during the Jimmy Carter presidency. And after his father passed away, I found an official Republican membership card among his belongings.

Josiah Parson was no Uncle Tom. In fact, he was once what was called a “racist” when it came to civil rights and politics. Being black superseded his political affiliation. So he wasn't a fan of Richard Nixon or Ronald Reagan.

Republican or not, Josiah Parson never towed the party line or bowed down before anyone. Like me, as a Democrat, he would have been repulsed by Scott's knee-jerk acquiescence to President Trump's hateful manipulation.

This is a matter of character, not partisan politics.

Scott looked weak. He doesn't seem to have the courage to stand up for himself.

Like the man who sold his soul, he hopes that President Trump will make him his running mate instead of pandering to him.

If that's true, the joke is on Scott. Because he clearly forgot the one person he should be considering if he wanted to be Trump's vice president.

Mr. Pence appeared to defect to Mr. Trump at every opportunity. He never showed any backbone, at least not until January 6, 2021, when he tried to blackmail him into not fulfilling his constitutional obligations.

And Mr. Pence may have been preparing for Mr. Trump's wrath. That's because Trump had already admonished Pence for being “too honest” when he insisted on January 6 that the election needed to be certified.^th.

“President Trump was wrong,” Pence said at last year's annual Gridiron Dinner, according to media reports. “I had no right to overturn the election. And history will hold Donald Trump accountable because his reckless words put my family and everyone who was in the Capitol that day at risk.” I know it will.”

Perhaps words like Mr. Pence's “deserving” may have been enough to infuriate the thugs who chanted “hang Mike Pence” on January 6th. Or that Trump has reportedly called Pence a “shithole” since January 6th.

That's what Scott really needs to think about. Trump attacks people who aren't civil enough. malicious attack. And Scott won't be the only one he attacks. Trump will attack anyone Scott cares about.

Perhaps his new fiancée, interior designer Mindy Noche. After all, Trump attacked Mitch McConnell's wife Elaine Chao. And Ted Cruz's father.

Trump has no respect for people, at least not adults. As far as I know, he hasn't attacked anyone's children. still.

Scott, like Pence, is a devout Christian. He also met his fiance at church. And last I checked, hatred is not part of Christian philosophy.

Of course, this never seems to matter to Trump. The question is, does it matter to Tim Scott? Unfortunately, for now the answer seems to be no.
