The NBA has given us the feel of March Madness.
Throughout Sunday afternoon’s game, the Minnesota Timberwolves were even with the Phoenix Suns in multiple runs, but Devin Booker & Co. came back each time to put them further into the hole. It was like that throughout the contest…well… that It happened. (Related: Spurs’ Victor Wembaneyama becomes youngest center in history to score 50 points)
At one point in the game, the T-Wolves were faced with the following situation. 16 point differenceHowever, they managed to claw their way back into the game and tied the game with Phoenix at 117-117 with 46.4 seconds left. On the next possession, Minnesota’s defense forced the Suns into three consecutive misses, including two by Booker. As time wore on, we found ourselves in a situation where Phoenix committed a shot clock violation and handed the ball to the Timberwolves with just 2.7 seconds left.
Literally the only action in this game, Timberwolves shooting guard Joe Ingles threw the ball inbounds to advance Julius Randlewho hit the basketball gods with a 3-point shot and gave us a moment usually only seen in college basketball.

Ice-cold, cold-blooded, it doesn’t matter how you want to label this shot. I can’t help but appreciate not only how great this shot is, but also the absolutely beautiful atmosphere it created.
There aren’t many like this in the NBA, it’s quite a sight to see.
