Tom Cruise To Perform Epic Stunt For Olympics Closing Ceremony, Report Reveals

Tom Cruise is known for his wild stunts, but he'll reportedly take it to the next level with an epic stunt planned for the Olympic Closing Ceremony.

Sources said the daredevil actor is planning a thrilling stunt which would see him rappelling from the top of the Stade de France down to the stadium and carrying the official Olympic flag. TMZCruise's fans can rest assured that the famous actor has another up their sleeves: Cruise's latest adventure also involves a unique approach to taking over the flag.

A source with direct knowledge told TMZ that after Cruise rappels, the telecast will cut to a two-minute pre-recorded clip of Cruise boarding a plane and flying the Olympic flag as he makes his way from Paris to Los Angeles. Cameras will reportedly keep rolling as Cruise skydives down to the Hollywood sign.

According to TMZ, a source said the stunt, which sees Cruise standing in front of the Hollywood sign, was actually performed early on a Saturday morning in March in preparation for this monumental moment in Olympic history.

Sources on the project told media that they assumed someone would notice the epic stunt as it unfolded and leak it online or to the press. Surprisingly, reports said that none of the footage was ever released to the public, giving Cruise ample opportunity to impress.

There were a few photos of Cruise lying on the ground near the sign, but the big moment of him in the air at the landmark location somehow remained hidden until now — and according to TMZ, no one has been able to connect the photo to the Olympics until now.

Sources told the outlet that there are still some complicated logistics to be worked out regarding the stunt scene in France, and it remains possible that Cruise may have to reportedly hire a real rappelling stuntman at some point to complete the stunt.

According to TMZ's sources, Cruise is the man who came up with the idea, proposing a series of stunts to the International Olympic Committee to connect the Paris and Los Angeles Games. (Related: Olympic medal-winning record holder Kim Ye-ji's incredible shooting style sets the internet ablaze)
