At a recent House Agriculture Committee hearing, Congressman Barry Moore expressed support for Alabama's farmers, ranchers, and foresters.he told it Staying up to date with American agricultural policy is of great personal importance to him.
“Agricultural programs and safety net programs are important to Alabama agriculture,” Moore said. “Improving our nation’s agricultural policies and securing timely Farm Bill reauthorization is undoubtedly a top priority for me and the lower Alabama producers I represent.”
Mr. Moore detailed potential improvements that he believes will benefit the state's growers, especially those in his district.
“We look forward to increasing base prices, ensuring program integrity for SNAP and other federal assistance programs, and promoting the wood products industry,” Moore declared. “These are some of the top priorities for me and the lives of the people I represent.”
Moore said the recent drought has had a significant impact on the area he represents.
“Wiregrass and western Alabama are struggling to stay healthy after the severe drought of recent months, and peanut producers are feeling the pinch with fewer profits than ever before.” he said.
Farmers across Alabama are feeling the pinch of thin profit margins and a historic drought, but all Biden has to offer them is more paperwork.

Moore argued that the Biden administration, along with Democrats, is wreaking havoc on Alabama and American agriculture by pursuing liberal policies.
“Proposals to adjust Title 1 to meet modern production needs are met with nothing but pushback from Democratic lawmakers,” Moore said. “It's unfortunate that these producers feel unsupported by the current administration. They would rather play ERP favorites, grab all the tax money they can for SNAP, and give money to radical wealthy environmental activists. I want to pander to you.”
“The Department of Agriculture seems to be putting politics before the people.”
“Our farmers, ranchers and foresters deserve better recognition.”
