TREY TRAINOR: The SAVE Act Must Be Passed And Enforced

In an age when our trust in democratic institutions is caught up in the rim, one principle must remain sacred. The dignity of our election. Our Republic is only as strong as the faith our citizens place in the ballot box. That’s the reason for the passage Save the act (HR 22) is not only timely, but essential.

Save acts directly from the foundation raised by President Donald J. Trump Presidential Order The title is “Maintaining and protecting the integrity of American elections.” That order emphasized what all Americans instinctively knew. Fair and safe elections are the foundation of our constitutional republic. President Trump has made it clear that foreign interference, voter fraud and systematic vulnerabilities are not just possibilities. They are the threat we must fulfill our resolve and actions. (Related: Stephen Miller says Democrats have just removed “one of the stupidest points” but to the Save Act)

HR 22 codifies the law many of the important protections it defended in its executive order. From demanding evidence of US citizenship, voting in federal elections, strengthening voter roles, to mandatory transparent election audits, the SAVE Act is a clear response to growing concerns among voters across the political spectrum. It closes loopholes, modernizes the electoral system, and makes today’s challenges more robust and clear.

Last Thursday, the House of Representatives I passed Save law with bipartisan support. The vote sent a clear and overwhelming message to the American people. Election integrity is not a partisan issue. It is a national order. Now the responsibility lies straight to the US Senate. The discussion time is over. The Senate must act quickly, pass the Save Act and send it to President Trump’s desk so that he can sign the law.

But passing the law is only half the battle.

To truly protect the integrity of our election, the SAVE Act must be strictly enforced at the state level. This is not just a policy issue, it is a national security issue. The Secretary of State and all election officials across the country must treat the integrity of the vote as a strict responsibility. More importantly, the state attorney general must take this opportunity to stand up and enforce this law with an unwavering commitment.

The role of a state attorney general should go beyond consumer protection and civil enforcement. In this age, the first-class mission must be the preservation of free and fair elections. The Attorney General must be a fearless guardian of our election process. It involves investigating fraud, holding bad actors accountable, and following laws like court save laws where necessary. What’s less than that is abandoning the Constitution and their obligations to those whom they serve.

Inaction is not neutral, it is an accomplice. And when it comes to our elections, the cost of self-satisfaction is nothing but the erosion of public trust and the weakening of our pillars of republic.

The Save Act offers a rare and important opportunity to restore that trust. It deserves bipartisan support, full implementation, and vigilance enforcement. Americans are watching. They demand transparency, security and fairness. We owe it to them and to every generation who will inherit this great nation.

Meet this moment with clarity and courage.

Protect your vote.

Let’s protect America.
