Steve Witkov, President Donald Trump’s Special U.S. Envoy, suggested on Monday evening “Hanity” that there is a “potential” for the US and Russia to potentially restructure their relationship through “commercial opportunities.”
Since his campaign, Trump has vowed to bring peace to wars that escalated under the Biden Harris administration, including the Ukraine-Russian conflict. Host Sean Hannity asked Witkov about his recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and whether “de facto trades can emerge” between the US and Russia.
“I think you used a very good word there, Sean, it appears. I’m the third meeting with him. This last meeting lasted nearly five hours,” Witkoff said. “Two of his main advisors in the room at the time had Ushakov and Kiril Dmitriev. It was a compelling meeting.”
“At the end, we actually came up with it, and I’m going to say it at last, but it doesn’t mean that in the way we’ve been waiting for,” Witkov added. “It means it took us a while for us to get to this place. Putin’s request is to get permanent peace here.
The talks between Witkov and Putin took place in St. Petersburg on Friday, following Trump’s call to end the Russian-Ukraine war. According to To Reuters. (Related: MSNBC Host Race to Fix Guests Calling Tulsi Gabbard “Russian Agent”

Hannity continued to ask what potential deals include, say, “Imagine” Putin “Is doing business” with the US and Europe.
“There is no doubt about that. This peace agreement is about these so-called five territories, but there’s more to it,” Witkov said. “There are security protocols. No NATO. [and] Article 5. That’s many details attached to it. It is a complicated situation as it is rooted in some real problematic events occurring between the two countries. ”
“I think we may be in a crisis of something very important to the world as a whole. In addition to that, I believe there is a possibility of restructuring unified national relations with Russia.
Tensions between Ukraine and Russia continued over the weekend, when two Russian missiles struck a city in northeastern Ukraine on Sunday, killing 34 people.
Over the past few months, Witkov has played a central role in discussions between Moscow and Washington, DC over the possibility of co-investment in rare earth minerals in the Arctic and Russia. According to To Reuters. Additionally, Ukrainian envoy met with DC officials on Friday to discuss the possibility of another mineral trade after a previous proposal between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy fell in February.
