Wednesday’s Tuba City game was a loss, but that memory didn’t bother me on Thursday. They injured the Hopi Bruins with a sharp 12-3 victory. Give some credit to fans on both teams. The last four times they met, the home team left the winner.
Judge Nez was outstanding. She scored two runs and stole five bases from 3 to 3. Nez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases. She hooks at least one each time she joins the field this season. Destiny Huminimptewa was another important player, riding on the bases in three of the four plate appearances and earning four basses, stealing four basses.
Tuba City pushed the record 5-11 with a victory. This was the third straight at home. The home victory was thanks to their hit performances in that stretch as they averaged 10.0 runs in those games. As for the Hopi, they were on a 10-game winning streak (from last season) and dropped them 0-9.
Tuba City has the opportunity to be back and forth with the Bruins. The pair will be back again later today.
