Tuba City has struggled against Monument Valley, holding a record of 1-9 since October 2021. However, there’s a chance to narrow that gap on Monday when the Warriors face off against the Mustangs at 6 PM. They’re riding a seven-game winning streak right now.
The last encounter saw Tuba City barely scraping through, but the recent match against Page was a different story. The Warriors decisively defeated the Sand Devils 3-0 on Wednesday. For those keeping track, that’s their largest margin of victory against Page since mid-October 2021.
The match wrapped up with scores of 25-7, 25-15, and 25-18.
On an individual note, sophomore Oraiya Granger has stepped up as a significant player, consistently racking up over 18 assists in each of her last three matches. Tia Lincoln also had a moment to shine, snagging her first assist of the season.
Meanwhile, Monument Valley secured a solid 3-0 win against Holbrook on Saturday, marking their seventh consecutive victory against them without any trouble.
Those final scores? Well, they went 25-11, 25-13, and 25-17.
Currently, Tuba City holds a record of 17-8-1, while Monument Valley stands at 20-10. But there’s still a cloud hanging over Tuba City after their previous 3-0 defeat against the Mustangs back in September. Can the Warriors flip the script, or will history seem to repeat itself? We’ll find out soon enough.
