TUBACK, Ariz. (KGUN) — Tuback is at the top of USA Today’s National Best Small Town Art Scene leaderboard as of Monday.this is chamber of commerce is calling on the public to vote in a reader poll to keep Tuback’s arts community at number one.
Must be cast by Monday, June 12th. Number of votes in national polls. Other top contenders in this category include Abingdon, Virginia, Taos, New Mexico, and Laguna Beach, California.
Tuback has earned these honors at the last two Reader’s Choice Awards. Candidates are submitted by a “committee of experts,” narrowing their fields to the current top 10, and open to the public to vote.
Located in Santa Cruz County, about 40 miles north of Nogales, Arizona, Tuback has more than 100 galleries and shops, according to USA Today.
In addition to the gallery scene, Tubac’s Presidio State Historical Park and Museum It offers visitors the opportunity to experience 2,000 years of Native American, Spanish, Mexican and American history firsthand. Three of the buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the Presidio holds the honor of being Arizona’s first state park.
